Badge Machine Hire

Hire a badge machine and make your own badges — for a gala, a school fair, a birthday party, a conference or a market stall. The press is simple to use, and most people are making badges within a minute of picking it up.

The school and community rate is for schools, kindergartens, registered charities and community groups.

Badge parts are 75c per set, with a discount over 500 sets. A set is everything you need for one badge: a printed front, a clear mylar cover and a pinned back. The minimum order is 100 sets.

A refundable deposit of $100 is taken at booking and released once the machine comes back and has been checked in.

Sizes

We hire machines in 32mm, 44mm, 58mm and 75mm.

58mm is the most popular size and we have several. We have only one 44mm machine and one 75mm machine, so if you need either of those, book as far ahead as you can.

Don’t under-order your parts

Order more parts than you think you need. There is a strong tendency, once the machine is in front of you, to get carried away and make far more badges than you planned. It is mildly addictive.

You are not stuck with them. Anything above the first 100 sets is refunded when you return it, as long as the fronts, covers and backs come back in equal quantities and in resaleable condition. So the sensible thing is to over-order, use what you use, and bring the rest back.

We can prepare your badge fronts

If you would rather not cut your own, we can do it for you:

Plain cutouts — pre-cut blank circles, ready to draw on. Ideal for galas and children’s activities where everyone designs their own.

Printed and cut to your artwork — 15c each. We print your design and cut it to size, so on the day all you do is press.

If you would like printed fronts, send us your artwork when you book.

How it works

Book using the form below. Tell us the size, your dates and how many sets you need.

We confirm a machine is free for those dates and send you a payment link. Nothing is held until we confirm.

Collect from our Henderson workshop at 3/45 The Concourse. Hire is pickup and return only — we are not able to courier machines.

Return the machine and any unused parts, and we release your deposit.

Payment for the hire and the parts is made in full at booking, along with the deposit.

The fine print

The machine remains the property of Badge King at all times, and you are responsible for it from pickup until it is returned and checked in.
Late returns are charged at $40 per day plus GST.
Please do not dismantle, oil, modify or re-tool the machine. If something goes wrong, tell us and we will sort it.
The press is hand operated with moving dies and can pinch fingers. It must not be used by under-16s without adult supervision.
We photograph the machine at pickup and at return as a record of its condition.
